The NSS in our college was started in the academic year 1998-1999under the guidance of Prof.Sanjay Gandhi. The inauguration is conducted every year for the fresher accompanied by a general awareness program and the enrollment of candidates is done after enlighten the students about the activities done by NSS in regard to the society.

During the period 2003-2006 the NSS was guided by Mr.H.B.Thiagarajan and the office of President was taken over by Krishna Raj of Mechanical Department (III year). Mr.Natarajan has been the program officer for the period 2006-2009. At present Vijay.R.S (III Mech) has taken over the role of the Student President.

The NSS volunteers have been involved in the projects undertaken for the benefits of the institution and the students concerned. Such projects include awareness programs for AIDS, Chickenguniya, TB and blood donation camps that were conducted during the present academic year at the Nilgiris.

The camps are conducted every year and a particular village is adopted by NSS for three years. Under this camps of 10 days duration are organized in adopted villages or urban slums with some specific projects by involving local communities. The camp for the academic year 2008-2009 was conducted at Sholur Mattam.

The NSS aims at demonstrating the motto ?NOT ME BUT YOU? in its day to day programme, by effectively upholding the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other persons view. We have succeeded in the past and we will continue to do so in the future also.
